Lately, the topic of racial equality, and equality among humanity in general, has received loads of attention from the media and public alike. It seems as though many are focused on creating a change for a better way that will put men and women on an even ground, regardless of their ethnic background or sexual preferences. However, there are always people trying to prevent that change from occurring.
A sadly hot trending topic on Twitter this morning, September 4, is the offensive #WhyDoBlackPeople hashtag. The tag has people posting tweets joking on black culture and generalizing every black person of being guilty of committing rather questionable actions. While some might just see it as humor, many have tweeted about the hashtag being offensive and racially insensitive.
