Roc Nation rhymer J. Cole disappointed a lot of fans by delaying the release of his sophomore album, Born Sinner. The project was due this past January, but Cole says that it was understood amongst the powers-that-be at his label that it would be better to push the project back. “They were cool with it, like ‘Whatever you wanna do’,” Cole said. “Really that was a bad move. We decided that we got everybody playing on the same team and the same frequency. This is the sophomore album let’s not f— around.” “Let’s really roll this out right, get the proper single, get the proper videos, proper brands,” he explained. “There are certain things that you can line up to make an album feel bigger.” |
