Lil B Talks Bernie Sanders Support With Michael Eric Dyson on MSNBC

Lil B has been on TV quite a bit as of late: the other week, B appeared on CNN’s “The Newsroom”, where he chatted with host Brooke Baldwin about his support for Bernie Sanders; before that, he talked curses with ESPN. This afternoon, he sat down with Michael Eric Dyson on MSNBC to revisit his support for Sanders and discuss the tenuous relationship between the candidate and the Black Lives Matter movement, environmental issues, and more.

Asked by Dyson to list his reasons for supporting Sanders, Lil B offered: “Well you know, sir, just coming from the Bay Area, being around places like Oakland, where they have the divide in East Oakland, where we need to raise minimum wage.”

Later, he affirmed Sanders’ energy policies: “Bernie Sanders wants to rebuild bridges,” he notes, “and [he’s] also fighting against the fossil fuels, and things of that nature. I’m really down for that, ’cause I’m down to conserve and save energy.”

He also urged candidates and citizens alike to pay more attention to the violence and prejudice faced by members of the LGBTQ community. “Protect transgender people, and also homosexual and gay people,” he urged. “A lot of transgender people are losing their lives, and that’s something that a lot of people won’t talk about.” Lil B recently described himself as “transphobic” following a joke he later called “insensitive” and “immature”.
