Last night, Nile Rodgers performed at the British Summer Time Hyde Park concert. This morning, he decided to go busking. Watch him perform a few hits (Sister Sledge’s “We Are Family”, Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out”, Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”, Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”) via Stereogum.

Rodgers discussed the experience on Twitter:

Today I went busking on the #London Southbank. Didn’t draw much of a crowd until I stared playing dance music. Hmm? pic.twitter.com/N89XINfgfD — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

Though I had no voice from screaming during last night’s show, I started to draw a crowd when I sang “Aw Freak Out!” pic.twitter.com/k4R6XjMsFe — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

Notice everybody around were also wearing jackets. It was really cold this morning. https://t.co/uaVJaj0X8l — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

Not many until I started playing @CHICorg songs. Then it was on! https://t.co/VAGSFrPTz8 — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

That’s how I started. I was homeless. https://t.co/2w5bcfcHIm — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

Nope. It sort of became obvious when every song was one of my productions. I even tried to sing “Like A Virgin” 🙂 https://t.co/zwiZTghVqo — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

I admit I was playing bossa nova music at first, so I being a bit deceptive. https://t.co/c4sKl5Lf01 — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

This really was a blast today. I truly used to like busking. I made a decent living and some lifelong friends. https://t.co/oAkps4e6k3 — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015

I earned a respectable £12.30 in just 20 minutes #busking today. In the old days we’d call that, “A good take.” https://t.co/0ncuo6uwoP — Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) June 22, 2015
