Usher and ex-wife Tameka Raymond had a very messy, and very public, divorce and custody battle, so it’s no surprise that she’s citing their 5-year-old son’s near drowning as leverage to take custody away from the superstar singer.
Tameka filed legal docs in which she blames Usher for the accident, and claims their son was left unsupervised in the pool when his arm got stuck in the drain. She says Usher delegated responsibility to his aunt, who failed at ensuring her children were safe.
Tameka wants temporary custody of their two kids, saying it only makes since as Usher is out of town 85% of the time.
She goes on to say that Usher fired every caregiver who was on staff when he was awarded primary custody, and claims the new staff are not up to the job.
In the documents, Tameka asks for decision-making power over the children’s education, healthcare, religion and extracurricular activities.
The hearing is set for Friday at 2 p.m.
