The New York City borough of Brooklyn has always played a pivotal role in Hip Hop culture, birthing some of the most iconic artists the genre has ever had. In recent years, the borough has seen a resurgence with the bevy of new talent dominating the airwaves and Internet locally, nationally, and globally. Of the new crop of talent making waves is Qrunitup. Born and raised on the island of Trinidad, Q migrated to Brooklyn and assimilated to the culture with a level of zeal that led to his stardom in music. From the very beginning of his fast-rising career, Qrunitup has had impactful moments. The first being his debut single “Trappin On Trap,” which garnered a quarter-million streams across all platforms. This was followed by the release of “Needle” Remix, “Julio” and “Destiny,” which all gained massive traction among fans in New York City, leading to organic airplay for local DJs.
