Robert Finley Ignites A “Holy Ghost Party” With Gospel Fire

If sound could tremble, this is what it would feel like. That’s the energy Robert Finley channels in his brand-new gospel-inspired single, Holy Ghost Party. With his voice steeped in blues and soul, the North Louisiana legend turns up the sacred heat, fusing R&B grit with the timeless uplift of gospel. The track is a joyous invitation, both revival and celebration. This sets the stage for his forthcoming album, Hallelujah! Don’t Let The Devil Fool Ya, due October 10. Finley shares:

Making a gospel record was the first thing I ever wanted to do. I’ve had at least one gospel song on each album, and I even did one on America’s Got Talent… some of those people were in tears.

His conviction resonates throughout the new single, produced once again by longtime collaborator Dan Auerbach. Backed by an all-star lineup—including Auerbach, Barrie Cadogan, Malcolm Catto, Tommy Brenneck, Ray Jacildo, and Finley’s own daughter Christy Johnson on vocals, “Hallelujah! Don’t Let The Devil Fool Ya” was tracked in a single day, born from pure improvisation and spirit. Finley will bring his gospel-soaked soul to the stage this fall with international dates running through October, including CT Folk Festival (Sept 10).
