Scorpio P represents for NYC Hip Hop on “Street Food” EP
Scorpio P. is a Jamaica, Queens native representing for New York City Hip Hop. Born to a German-Jamaican mother and a Syrian-Indian-Jamaican father, he began with writing poetry and short stories at a young age. At age 16, he transitioned to rap blending his saxophone prowess and incorporating his study of jazz music. As an attendant of York College he met fellow artists Ursa Major and Bizzy Bee. With both of them serving as his mentors, Phil ultimately became one of the first artists under Bizzy Bee Productions as he went on to release The Fourth Coming on his debut mixtape, High Energy, Vol. 1.
Taking a hiatus from hip-hop to focus on his career in theatre, he along with his father founded the Minefield Theatre Group where he currently holds the position of Artistic Director. Returning in 2017, Scorpio P has released his Black Magic single on inauguration day in a form of protest. The track, featuring Ursa Major, has been a spark club for his current musical focus and has become a crowd favorite at Big Kidz Clubhouse, Amityville Music Hall and The West End Lounge. The follow up Mother’s Son dropped August 17th as the lead single off of StreetFood, the EP which is available below:
