Mention the name Kyle West among music industry heads and it will ring major bells. West has produced songs for Heavy D, Tevin Campbell, Donell Jones, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Diana Ross, Jill Scott, 112, Ashanti, 702 and many more. Kyle produced and wrote the majority of Al B. Sure’s classic album, In Effect Mode. The Grammy Award winning West has 11 top ten r&b records and has over 30 million records sold.
Kyle West has now moved to the executive side. Along with partners Dre Hendrix and Leo Blaze, West has launched Kollective Recordz. To add a jolt of soulful energy into the urban musical landscape, they have joined forces with ItzYourzRadio, to collaborate on a forthcoming r&b / hip-hop album release.
ItzYourzRadio, founded by Dondre’ “Donni-Oh!” Phoenix has 26 years of experience in the radio and music industry. Phoenix had a radio show and was the assistant music director on the former neo soul channel, The Flow, on SiriusXM radio. He then launched his own radio station, ItzYourzRadio, on Tunein.
Jonathan “J-Mo” Molock, Phoenix’ partner and co-host, has 24 years of experience in the music industry. Molock was a label rep for Sony and Def Jam Records for several years. As the dynamics of the industry began to change, he moved onto stage production management for Live Nation.
Through Molock’s position, he and Phoenix organized a contest, on ItzYourzRadioLive, that enabled two local hip-hop artists to open up for Rick Ross and Gucci Mane. Phoenix and Molock host their weekly show, ItzYourzRadioLive, every Sunday 4pm-7pm on Live 97.5 FM in Salisbury, MD.
The collaboration between Kollective Recordz and ItzYourzRadio have enlisted some major r&b names such as Monifah, Ruff Endz, Donell Jones and some new hip-hop names such as Devon Beck and Hots. Get ready for a fresh, soulful vibe, merging legends and new voices, r&b and hip-hop, and timeless music. The album title and release date will be forthcoming
