Apex Tex, Benji$Mb, & Ade’Nay team up to on their new single “Hickory Dickory”

Artist Apex Tex, Benji$Mb, and Ade’Nay are solo hip hop artists from the DMV area. They represent Humble Wolves Entertainment, and their latest collaborative single, “Hickory Dickory,” has been going crazy! Apex Tex was initially born in Fort Worth, Texas, but moved to the DMV in his youth years. Growing up, he was heavy influence by hip-hop artists such as 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, and Boosie. Benji$Mb and Apex Tex have known each other since the 2nd grade. Benji$Mb is a versatile artist, rapping from street sense to pain in his heart. Ade’Nay is full-blooded Panamanian. She is going hard for her home country; she calls herself “The 507 Baby”.

“Hickory Dickory” is what you expect from DMV rappers, which is smooth, almost whispery vocals coupled with a relaxed flow that contrasts beautifully with any beat. When the song first comes on, you instantly hear the sample of Gucci Mane’s “Trap House 3,” but it quickly creates its own identity as Apex Tex kicks it off with that familiar but distinct DMV flow. He raps with such calm bravado and smooth confidence that you can’t help but hang onto every word he says, and you will most certainly find many Quotables and Instagram captions spread throughout his verse. Following up, Apex Tex is Benji$mb; he comes in a bit more aggressive and spits with more urgency, which you would assume throws off the track’s energy, but Benji$mb is a consummate professional. His verse is placed perfectly in the song’s middle and sets up what I think is the best verse on the track.

Last is the Ade’Nay; Do not let her cute face and small demeanor fool you; she is just as dangerous as the fellas, if not more. Without speaking about her sex, body, or ability to be on “hot Girl” vibes, she provides what might be the hardest verse on “Hickory Dickory” as she talks like a living, breathing Griselda Blanco. She lets you know, “I ma street b*tch/ima real b*tch/ain’t s*it sweet about me b*tch,” then proceeds to talk that big girl gangster talk that a lot of females don’t have the heart to spit. Her Babyface is hiding an actual demon in her verses. As I said earlier, this is the best verse on the track, and they made a great choice letting Ade’Nay close it out.

This trio will go far if they can keep up this quality of work. The DMV has shown their support for this banger by running up their views: currently, “Hickory Dickory” sits comfortably at 21k youtube views, and it is looking to raise even higher during the summer months. Make sure you check the official “Hickory Dickory” video on youtube and follow Apex TexBenji$mb, & Ade’nay on Instagram by clicking their names. I can’t wait to see what’s next from these Humble Wolves!
