Bobby Hagens Shares New Track “Check On Me”

Russ-producer Lucas Quinn handles instrumentation for DMV Hip-Hop artist Bobby Hagens’ latest release “Check On Me” via Too Lost. Following hometown collaborations with Chaz French and Big Flock as well as guest featured verses from nationally recognized acts Sy Ari Da Kid and BJ The Chicago Kid, the introspective track details what it feels like to be drowning internally while pretending everything’s fine on the surface.

Opening up about real experiences like losing his cousin to suicide, growing up without his father, and the pressure of trying to be a present dad while chasing something bigger through music, “Check On Me” sits in that space where you’re saying you’re good, but you’re not. Just in-time for Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s the type of raw emotion filled song that cuts through the noise of typical TikTok bops.

“This record comes from a place of carrying things I never really said out loud, losing people, and questioning life all while trying to balance my day to day responsibilities as a man. A lot of us are hurting in silence. If this song helps somebody feel seen or can begin the dialogue to a real conversation, then mission accomplished,” say’s Hagens in a press statement about the single.
