OCD (Organic Creative Department) Cleaners, a Los Angeles-based up cycled streetwear brand that fuses sustainability, storytelling, and community, recently hosted an intimate backyard pop up series to celebrate 10 years of success of the brand in Los Angeles.
The brand has collaborated with notable retailers like Sneaker Politics and Bodega, expanding its reach while maintaining its grassroots ethos. Bond’s philosophy centers on “Building the Bond,” a mission to create deeper connections through fashion. Bond’s journey from a gifted sewing machine in 2015 to leading a meaningful fashion movement exemplifies the power of creativity rooted in authenticity and purpose.
Held in the famous Crenshaw district, founder and creator Isaiah Bond prides himself on blending fashion, food, and culture to strengthen communal ties. Not only did he have some unique items sold for a price of 4.20 in honor of “420” but he also allowed patrons to purchase exclusive pieces that personified the OCD name and brand. With a live Dj set, food on the grill, board games, and some of his closest family and friends, Bond created a memorable experience that shed light on the importance of community, black art, and entrepreneurship.
To add the icing on the cake, Ethika sponsored the event providing attendees with exclusive merchandise bags and goodies, to commemorate such a momentous occasion. Guests were seen purchasing clothes, engaging in organic laughter, dancing and congratulating Bond on such an innovative and inspiring brand.
When asked about the inspiration for the backyard pop series, the Louisiana native stated, “The backyard event was about more than just clothes — it was about reigniting a spark. I started OCD Cleaners as a way to process life and create meaning through fashion, and this pop-up was my way of inviting the community into that space.”
“It’s where the journey began for me—sewing in my backyard—and it felt right to return to that energy and build something real, together. Long story short—I hit some major milestones with OCD Cleaners, then life hit back. I almost walked away, but the love from friends, family, and even strangers reminded me why I started.”
