From start to finish “Hear Me Out” is soulful indie classic.
In this day and age of “ Drill music”, “scammer rap”, & “Heaux Hop” it’s refreshing when an artist comes along and isn’t spending an entire album talking about the same stuff everyone else is. I love artists like 6lack, Roddy rich, & Pierre Bourne; artists who use their smooth vocals and calm demeanor to deliver emotionally resonating bars over beats that can affect your energy in almost magical ways. This form of rap is not easily done which is why those in that lane are always destined for greatness. Adding to this short but stellar list of artists is Industry newcomer and home grown ATLien 1TAKEE.
From the moment you hear those guitar strums on “Intro”, you know this isn’t just some simple mumble rap; 1Takee bares his soul on each song. The theme of “Hear Me Out” permeates throughout. 1Takee isn’t trying to brag on how fly or dope he is, he is using this project as therapy to address his fears, doubts, hopes, and dreams. The lead single “All My Life” is a motivational speech turned into a hit. He raps about his journey that created the person he is today, Takee isn’t worried about trying to make trendy bars and microwave lines; it’s more a letter to his loved ones as fans to say he was made for this path he chose.
