Shortly after midnight on Thursday, September 11th, gunfire erupted inside of club SOB in lower Manhattan, resulting in four people being hit. Fat Trel was having a release party at the venue for his “Sex, Drugs, Money & Guns (SDMG)” mixtape when a clip was unloaded as fans waited for Trel to take the stage. Fortunately, none of the wounds were fatal and two were only graze wounds. A call was made to authorities around 12:15 am informing them of the shooting, according to Fire Department officials.
Witness report that the shooting occurred near the bar, and the shooter apparently fled in a black vehicle. It’s uncertain what exactly lead to the shooting, although one witness recalls a loud verbal altercation that may have been gang related occurring before the shots went off.
“It was so ignorant. People started yelling at each other and then a gun got pulled.”
One witness, DJ Zeke, reported to the Daily News exactly what he experienced after the shots were fired.
“I’ve never been so scared because I didn’t know where the shots were coming from. Everybody is jumping on each other, trying to get away from the action. I’m shaken right now. Everybody was running to the door.”
