Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson has left his team to be with his 2-year-old son, who was beaten by a man dating the mother of his child. 27-year-old Joseph Patterson has been arrested in connection with the incident that has left the toddler in serious condition in South Dakota.
Emergency responders were called to the home where Patterson and his girlfriend were living, and found the 2-year-old unresponsive around 5:46 in the afternoon. He was rushed to the hospital, where it was revealed that his injuries were consistent with those of abuse.
The child suffered severe head injuries, and Patterson was arrested for aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant. Peterson has two other children, a daughter and another toddler son, Adrian Peterson Jr.
