Opening weekend is usually a big indication of the potential gross of a movie. Recently, Will Smith suffered a box office bomb on opening weekend with his sci-fi flick ‘After Earth’, and this isn’t the first time a big star has put out a lemon of a flick.
We decided to look into Hollywood’s biggest box office flops in the history of the industry. The following titles are taken from data reports and sites that figure the losses after calculating what the studios and distributors earn from the reported gross of a particular film. Because of the different economic environment within which each film on this list was created, we have also adjusted the losses for inflation.
