We previously reported that Teyana Taylor went off on Rihanna on Twitter over an Instagram video in which Rih Rih’s hairstylist wore a wig and snapback hat while singing a song mocking an Instagram video Teyana had put up singing the same song. Despite her stylist speaking out and claiming that he meant no ill will towards Teyana, the damage from the subsequent public dispute between Teyana and Rihanna has been done, and now they’re both facing judgement from the public.
Their Twitter spat escalated when Teyana made a picture as the background for her Twitter profile of herself as a boxer next to a picture of Rihanna’s battered faced after Chris Brown beat her up, which predictably offended many individuals. People felt as though Teyana was taking her personal issues with Rihanna too far by mocking domestic violence in general. Teyana has since changed the picture, but a petition was created to get her Adidas endorsement taken away from her. It’s already gained over 2,000 signatures and needs only a few hundred more to reach its mark.
On the flipside, a petition has also been created calling for MAC Cosmetics to drop Rihanna from her endorsement deal due to many people feeling as though she is a constant “cyber bully”. That petition has gotten over 600 signatures and needs around 350 more for it to be complete.
If both petitions reach their marks, the public will have to see if any actual action.
