47-year-old Deirdre Smith was a kind grandmother and minister who was tragically shot and killed while attempting to break up a fight between neighbors on Monday night, September 16th. A 17-year-old boy by the name of Khalil Kelly was arrested for the crime and charged with murder and aggravated assault. He is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in Georgia. Deirdre Smith’s neighbors described her as being a kind hearted woman who always tried to help out those around her.
