Hanumankind Unleashes High-Energy Keralan Tradition In “Run It Up”

Drums pound, feet stomp, history roars… this is more than music; it’s a movement! Kerala-born, Houston-raised Hanumankind returns with Run It Up, an electrifying fusion of Indian percussion and razor-sharp lyricism. Produced by Kalmi, the track pulses with the thunderous chenda, a traditional Keralan drum, intensifying as Hanumankind’s rhythmic verses push through themes of legacy, adversity, and motivation. More than just a song, “Run It Up” is a battle cry, a declaration of breaking free from limitations and rising above the noise. Last year, Hanumankind, Kalmi, and Bijoy Shetty took the world by storm with Big Dawgs, gaining recognition from Rolling Stone, Complex, NME, and The Guardian.

Reuniting with director Bijoy Shetty, the accompanying cinematic music video is a visual spectacle, incorporating traditional Indian martial arts like Kalaripayattu, Gatka, Thang Ta, Mardani Khel, alongside Chenda Melam drummers and the striking Theyyam dance of Kerala. Hanumankind masterfully blends cultural heritage with contemporary hip-hop, forging a sonic and visual experience unlike any other. “Run It Up” arrives just ahead of Hanumankind’s debut at Coachella, where he will bring his high-intensity performance to U.S. audiences for the first time. Hanumankind is redefining the global rap scene, pushing boundaries with his powerful fusion of tradition and innovation. Stream “Run It Up” now, watch the music video below, and prepare for Hanumankind’s Coachella debut by following him on INSTAGRAM, X, YOUTUBE, and FACEBOOK.
