Lexa Gates Is “What You Wish For”

Careful what you wish for now… Lexa Gates invites fans into an eerie, dreamlike reality with the mesmerizing new music video for What You Wish For. Directed by Olivia De Camps, the fashion-forward visual plunges Gates into an uncanny waiting room, where each second drags toward something more sinister. As cryptic tests unfold and glimpses of other patients flicker through surreal scenes, the track’s ominous lyrics take on an even deeper weight. Already off to a stellar start in 2025, Gates is set to perform at the Governors Ball music festival on June 7th. “What You Wish For” is a standout from Elite Vessel, Lexa’s critically acclaimed debut album released last fall. At just 23, the Latinx artist has already carved a space for herself among the industry’s most compelling storytellers. “Elite Vessel” is a deeply personal 12-track journey through ambition, resilience, and self-discovery, featuring collaborations with Alé Araya, Zelooperz, and Billy Lemos. The album debuted on both the Billboard Heatseekers and Current R&B/Hip Hop Albums charts, earning praise from Billboard, HighSnobiety, Rolling Stone, The FADER, and more. Stream “Elite Vessel” now, watch “What You Wish For,” and follow Lexa Gates for more updates on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
