Alfreda! Rises In Full Soul On Debut Single “Died To Myself”

To rise again, sometimes you have to surrender. With Died To Myself, powerhouse vocalist Alfreda! launches her solo career with raw soul, fearless honesty, and spiritual weight. Out now via Waring Records, the single marks the first release from the legacy-rooted label founded by Jordan and Sinead Waring. Set to appear on her debut album Fate Will Have It due later this year, “Died to Myself” is a stirring anthem of release, redemption, and rebirth. Alfreda!’s voice doesn’t just sing the lyrics, it wrestles with them, infusing every word with lived experience. Alfreda! shares:

When I first read the lyrics, I felt like I was staring into a mirror. This song demanded everything from me, and I gave it everything I had.

Written by Jordan Waring, the track was born as a reflection on spiritual surrender and emotional reckoning. Waring adds:

When Alfreda delivered the vocal, she gave it soul. That’s when I knew the song had become something bigger than me.

From pride to pain, ego to awakening, this song is both testimony and transformation. Known for her genre-defying range and commanding stage presence, Alfreda! steps into her own light with a voice that traverses gospel, blues, and soul with unapologetic power. Alfreda! will debut the single live with a full brass ensemble and the Atlanta Blues Syndicate on June 19 at Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre. The celebratory event marks the official launch of Waring Records and includes a guest appearance from legendary artist Matisyahu and special guest Chris Blackwell. Stream the single now here, and stay tuned for more from Alfreda! and Waring Records as they bring spirit, sound, and soul to a new era of music.
