Los Angeles hip-hop trailblazers The Pharcyde present the 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE-directed music video for “Timeless,” the Rick Rock-produced single from Timeless, the new release coming May 2 on 88rising. The single marks the official reunion of Imani, Slimkid3, and Fatlip, and leads a project created in collaboration with RCA Records and 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, a collective known for genre-defying, cross-generational work. The EP features additional production from Rockwilder, KHYRSIS, and Seige Monstracity, and connects The Pharcyde’s legacy of offbeat humor, jazz-laced beats, and unconventional lyricism with a new era of experimental hip-hop. The group, known for their landmark albums Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde and Labcabincalifornia (with production from the late J Dilla), will also appear at Coachella on April 11. “People are used to a sonic journey with The Pharcyde, so with us being away from the scene, we took the time to highlight producers we’ve been fans of,” says Imani. Timeless is out now on 88rising.
