Robert Finley Lifts Voices With Gospel-Soul Anthem “I Wanna Thank You”

North Louisiana soulman Robert Finley brings gratitude and gospel fire to I Wanna Thank You. Produced by longtime collaborator Dan Auerbach, the track radiates joy through Finley’s lived-in vocals and timeless blend of blues, soul, and R&B infused with sacred gospel tones. The track’s core refelects reverence for faith, family, and the creative bonds that have shaped Finley’s late-career renaissance. An official video directed by Tim Hardiman captures that same resonance, a moving tribute to community, creativity, and spirit. Finley shares:

I wrote ‘I Wanna Thank You’ because without Him, there ain’t no way I could be where I am today.

Director Hardiman echoes the sentiment:

When I heard the song, it was such a powerful expression of gratitude. I wanted the video to carry that same weight… it’s been a helluva run.

The latest single from his forthcoming album Hallelujah! Don’t Let The Devil Fool Ya, out October 10 via Easy Eye Sound. Recorded live in a single day, the sessions brought together Auerbach, guitarist Barrie Cadogan, drummer Malcolm Catto, bassist Tommy Brenneck, keyboardist Ray Jacildo, and call-and-response vocals from Finley’s daughter Christy Johnson. Alongside singles like Helping Hand and Holy Ghost Party, the album channels the spirit-first approach that has defined Finley’s journey.
